The light that reflects on the sea, the shadow play in the forest and the endless view over the meadows, the surroundings of Bergen have been the inspiration for many artists for centuries. Contemporary artists are still inspired by the sea, dunes and forests, and have settled here temporarily or permanently. The Kunst10Daagse is an annual event that takes place in October. Restaurants, cafes, hotels, shops and many other establishments take part in an exhibition throughout the city of Bergen. Each venue presents exhibitions of artists, poets and enthusiasts. Also blooming hotel participates every year in the Kunst10Daagse. 

Every year in May the 'Poetry in the Branding' takes place on the beach of Bergen aan zee. Anyone can submit his or her poem for this event, matching the theme of that year. The 20 best poems will be exhibited on poles in the coastline

Jazz & Sail, which takes place every year in September, is a musical event where you can enjoy various performances. In the centre of Bergen several stages are built, on the beach of Bergen aan Zee are activities and the whole village is dedicated to music.

Did you know that the terrain of blooming hotel is directly connected to the most beautiful mountain bike route in the Netherlands? Due to the difference in height of the dunes and the dense forests, the MTB parkour is a real challenge for both the novice and the professional mountain biker. Many athletes return here regularly to improve their personal record. The route is 14.2 km long and has 302 altimeters.

The surroundings of Bergen, Alkmaar and Schoorl contain numerous beautiful cycling routes. Through the polder, along the meadows, through the forest or through the dunes, height differences or an endless view. Along the beautiful classic windmills, through picturesque villages or the cosy town centres of the surrounding villages. We have mapped out several nice cycling routes for you. Do you bring your own bike? Then you can park it in our covered bicycle shed. Of course we also rent out bikes and children's bikes!

During your stay at blooming hotel, a visit to the beach cannot be missed. Would you like to make your day at the beach a little more active? On the beach of Bergen aan Zee you have the possibility to rent surfboards and SUP-boards. New to this sport on the water? Then take a lesson at one of the providers.
